Back to: The End Times
Introduction
Concerning Bible prophecy, those who study and believe in it, will experience a transformation in their lives of such hope and assurance of an amazing future to come. The following are a few important and encouraging things that your Heavenly Father wants you to know.
It’s Not Hard to Understand
Bible prophecy is not hard to understand. Even though the following is a mild rebuke Jesus gave to the pharisees, we see Him teaching us that it is not hard to understand Bible prophecy;
(Matthew 16:1-3), Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.
Know Bible Prophecy & Believe
God wants you to know Bible prophecy & believe in it. In Luke chapter 24, we have the account of Jesus rising from the dead. While two of His disciples were walking, He joined with them but they did not realize at this point that it was Jesus. While their hearts and conversation were filled with sadness and doubt, Jesus said the following words;
(Luke 24:25-27), Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
Empowers & Strengthens
Bible prophecy empowers & strengthens immensely.
(Luke 24:30-34), Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!
Bible prophecy empowers your;
- Faith in Jesus
- Faith in God’s Word
- Faith in hope
Watching & Waiting
Bible prophecy causes us to be watching and waiting with anticipation and excitement.
(Matthew 24:42-43), Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
It Cleanses Us
(1 John 3:3) says, And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
If you really believe, with all of your heart, that Christ is coming again, you will live a holy life. What would be your motivation to go into the world and live a sinful life if you believe that Jesus Christ is coming back? So, we need to live for Him.
It Comforts Us
In John 14, Jesus is speaking of His return.
(John 14:1-3), Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions… And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Jesus makes this promise. So, we are comforted by the fact that He is coming again to take us to heaven.
It Compels Us
In John 9, when Jesus healed the blind man, Jesus said;
(John 9:4), I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
Do you realize that there is coming a time when you won’t be able to work for God anymore? There is coming a day and time when our opportunities for service will be over. The more we believe and realize that Christ is coming again, the more it should compel us to do the work of Him who sent us “while it is day,” because “the night is coming when no one can work.”
It’s a Firm Foundation
Bible prophecy is a solid and unmovable rock for us to stand strong on in a crumbling world that is filled with uncertainty and it gives light unto our way.
(2 Peter1:19), And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;
It Will Bless You
You will be blessed by knowing Bible prophecy, where otherwise, you would not.
(Revelation 1:3), Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
May our Lord richly bless you as we now take our journey into the things that are soon to come.
End of Times is an amazing study.
