The Antichrist
(2 Thessalonians 2:3-10), Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God…. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
The Person of Antichrist
The most talked about person and theme in the Bible is Jesus Christ and His coming. The second most talked about person is the Antichrist.
- He is called the prince (Daniel 9)
- He is called the king, the goat (Daniel 8)
- He is called a little horn (Daniel 7)
- He is called the king of the north (Daniel 11)
- He is called a king of fierce countenance (Daniel 8)
- He is called the antichrist (1 John 4)
- He is called the man of sin, the son of perdition, the wicked (Revelation 17)
- He has a number, name, sign, and a mark (Revelation 13)
He is Closely Associated with Satan
(2 Thessalonians 2:9), The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
(Revelation 13:4), So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?
He is a Great Deceiver
The Antichrist will be the last world leader just prior to the second coming of Christ.
He will appear to the people around the world as a great peacemaker and even be looked at as the “savior” of the world. It is clear from Scripture that the Devil is very jealous of God and that he, along with the Antichrist, will do all they can to imitate the things of God.
Here are a few of his imitations:
- Christ has a church – Satan has one (Revelation 2:9, 3:9) “Synagogue of Satan.”
- Christ has a bride (the church) – Satan has a bride (Revelation 17) “The mystic harlot church”
- Christ has a cup (the “communion cup”) – Satan has a cup (1 Corinthians 10: 21) “The cup of devils”
- Christ’s earthly ministry was 3 ½ years – Satan will reign through the Antichrist for 3 ½ years (Revelation 13)
- God has a kingdom – Satan has a kingdom (Matthew 4)
- Jesus is called the “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” – Satan is called the ‘Roaring lion seeking to devour” (1 Peter 5:8)
- The Lord is called God – Satan is called ‘god of this world’ (2 Cor. 4:4)
- God is a Trinity – Satan’s imitation trinity (Revelation 16:13)
The Dragon – imitates the Father
The Antichrist / Beast – imitates the Son
The False Prophet – imitates the Holy Ghost
The Antichrist’s Power and Deception
- The Antichrist will have such great power of deception that he will deceive the majority of the world.
- He will have the power of miracles, signs, and wonders (2 Thessalonians. 2:9)
- He will have power to recover from a deadly head wound (Revelation 13:3)
- He will have the power of Satan (Revelation 13:4)
- He will have the power of the false prophet backing him up (Revelation 13:11-15).
- He will have the power of world economic control (Revelation 13:16-18).
The Antichrist’s Time Table
- Rises as a World Leader
(Revelation 6:1-2), Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
- He comes up with a temporary solution to “peace on earth”
(Daniel 8:25), And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
- He Confirms a Peace Covenant with Israel and Their Surrounding Countries
(Daniel 9:27), Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week
(1Thessalonians 5:2-3), For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
- Israel Embraces Him as Messiah
(John 5:43), I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

- He Causes Great Economic Prosperity
(Revelation 18:1-24), Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen…the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury…. merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots
- He Associates Himself with Mystery Babylon
(Revelation 17:1-8), And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast … And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH…. I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition.
- Many Are Deceived by His Miracles, Signs and Wonders

- He Receives a Deadly Head Wound and Miraculously Revives
(Revelation 13:1-3), Now the beast which I saw… The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.
- He Goes into the Jewish Temple Declaring to Be God (The Abomination of Desolation)
(2 Thessalonians 2:1-4), the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
- He Attempts to Force All to Worship Him and Take His Mark
(Revelation 13:16-18), He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
- He Destroys Mystery Babylon
(Revelation 17:16), And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
- He Goes After the Jewish People
(Matthew 24:15-16), Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
- He Persecutes Believers in Christ
(Revelation13:7), It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them.
- He Gathers His Army and is Defeated at Armageddon
(Revelation 19:19), And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
- He is Defeated and Cast into the Lake of Fire Forever
(Revelation 19:20), Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
As we close our study, our final thoughts are focused on how powerful the deception of the antichrist will be as he deceives multitudes upon multitudes. Those that will reject his deception and chose Jesus Christ will be greatly persecuted and most likely it will cost their life.
NOW is the time to make the decision to be born again according to the following words of Jesus;
(John 3:3-36), Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”… For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life… He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

Nominating the pair of former deputies to then-President Donald Trump was American attorney Alan Dershowitz, who was eligible to do so in his capacity as a professor emeritus of Harvard Law School.
Kushner, who is Trump’s son-in-law, and Berkowitz, who was the Middle East envoy, were key figures in negotiating deals between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
The deals were announced in a four-month span between mid-August and mid-December and were the most significant diplomatic breakthroughs in the Middle East in 25 years as the region girds for a prolonged confrontation with Iran.
Kushner said in a statement he was honored to be nominated for the prize, which will be awarded in October.
