Worry

One of the greatest privileges of being one who truly loves the Lord Jesus Christ and believes and obey His Word, is that you don’t have to worry ever again!
THIS IS AMAZING…to be able to go through life without ever having to worry ever again… WOW!!!
What a privilege and honor it is to now have a Heavenly Father that will love, protect, provide, and care for you forever!
For many though, worry has taken a great toll on their lives because they never opened up their heart in a child like faith to believe what you are about to see from the promises of God Almighty.
Watch how Jesus so deeply wants you to never worry again.
(Matthew 11:28-30), “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
(1 Peter 5:6-7), “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
We are living in a time of uncertainty with the possible announcements of more job layoffs, threats of war, famine, earthquakes, and pestilence. The Lord Jesus taught us not to worry about these things if we truly love and trust Him!
We are to be responsible in our duties, doing our part to do what we know is right in God’s sight, but we are not to worry, because our God CARES for us!
Even though there could literally be hundreds of things we could let bother us, God’s Word teaches us, who love Him, believe in Him, and obey Him, not to worry about even one of them!
As you study God’s Word, you will find POWERFUL reasons why you do not need to worry.
In (Matthew 6) alone, the Lord Jesus Christ gives us MANY of them. Let’s begin this amazing journey all jammed packed in one chapter of God’s Word!
The First Reason Why Believers Do Not Have to Worry is Because God Can Be Trusted with Every Detail in Our Lives
(Matthew 6:25a), “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life”
- Don’t worry about not having enough to eat
- Don’t worry about not having enough to drink
- Don’t worry about not having enough clothes to wear
- Don’t worry about not having enough money
WHY??
Because God can be TRUSTED with every detail in our lives!!!!
(Matthew 6:8b), “…your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”
(Matthew 6:25b), “…Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”
It seems Christ is implying that people worry about many things that are not needed to be overly concerned about. “Francis C. Ellis tells about a business man who drew up what he called a ‘Worry Chart’ in which he kept a record of his worries. He discovered that 40% of them were about things that probably would never happen: 30% concerned past decisions that he could not now unmake: 12% dealt with other people’s criticism of him: and 10% were worries about his health. He concluded that only 8% of them were really legitimate.”
This just goes to show that we are putting ourselves through a lot of emotional stress for nothing. In Guatemala even, they have something called “Worry Dolls.” Every night you give one worry to each tiny doll and put it in a box. The dolls hold your worries for you so you can sleep at night, but give them back to you the next morning. Worry is actually a form of atheism. When we worry, we are believing that God doesn’t exist to handle our problems.
(Philippians 4:6-7), “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
We as Believers Know We Do Not have To Worry Because Our Heavenly Father Cares for Even Flowers and Sparrow’s Needs and if So, How Much More Our Needs, We Being His Children.
(Matthew 6:26, 28-29), “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”
A Poem
“When the birds begin to worry, And the lilies toil and spin
And God’s creatures all are anxious, Then I also may begin.
For my Father sets their table, Decks them out in garments fine
And if He supplies their living, Will He not provide for mine?
Just as noisy, common sparrows Can be found most anywhere-
Unto some just worthless creatures, If they perish who would care?
Yet our Heavenly Father numbers Every creature great and small
Caring even for the sparrows, Marking when to earth they fall
If His children’s hairs are numbered, Why should we be filled with fear?
He has promised all that’s needful, And in trouble to be near.”
We as Believers Know We Do Not Have To Worry Because Worrying Does Not Help the Situation – in Fact, it is More Harmful Than Helpful
(Matthew 6:27), “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?”
The physical effects of worry: “At a British clinic an examination of 500 patients confirmed that more than one-third of their visual problems were caused by emotional tension. Dr. Leonard S. Fosdick of Northwestern University has proven conclusively that worry restricts the flow of saliva. Then, because natural mouth acids are not properly neutralized, tooth decay occurs. A survey of about 5,000 students in 21 different colleges confirms that worriers get the lowest grades.”
Nine out of ten: “There is no disputing fact that nine times out of ten, worrying about a thing does more damage to those who worry than the actual thing itself. Modern medical research has proved that worry breaks down resistance to disease. More than that, it actually diseases the nervous system – particularly that of the digestive organs and of the heart. Add to this the toll in unhappiness of sleepless nights and days void of internal sunshine, and you have a glimpse of the work this monster does in destroying the effectiveness of the human body.”
In or out of water:
“All the water in the world, However hard it tried,
Could never, never sink a ship, Unless it got inside.
All the hardships of this world, Might wear you pretty thin.
But they won’t hurt you, one least bit, Unless you let them in.”
Worry Shows a Lack of Faith and Understanding of God
(Matthew 6:30-32), “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”
George Muller, a well-known Christian evangelist, once said, “The beginning of worry is the end of faith, the beginning of faith is the end of worry.”
There are Real Challenges and Goals God Wants Us to Pursue, but Worrying Keeps Us from Them
(Matthew 6:33), “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
One of the biggest hindrances for those who are lost is that they are more worried about physical, earthly, and temporal needs to be met than being saved.
The devil’s trick is to get your mind off of the main issue, which is first and foremost having sins forgiven and everlasting life.
Living One Day at a Time Keeps Us from Being Consumed with Worry
(Matthew 6:34), “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
God’s Word offers us the opportunity to enjoy such freedom of spirit from the many things of this life that want to enslave us to worry.
By loving the Lord with all our heart and believing His Word and promises, we experience life’s greatest liberty: FREEDOM FROM WORRY!
